Summer Camp 2023

29th July - 6th August 2022
Everyone welcome

Summer Camp at Chichester Harbour is a popular part of our sailing calendar this year’s event which runs from Saturday 29 July through to Sunday 6 August this year.

Chichester Harbour has some of the best water for dinghy sailing in the country. It has 17 miles of sheltered open water in which to sail and offers the opportunity to gain skills and experience sailing in a harbour environment. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and lots of mud. There is plenty to see and do during the week with the little creeks, pretty villages, stunning scenery, lots of wildlife and a variety of sailing clubs to visit.

The camp is based in the grounds of Cobnor House, Chidham which is situated close to the heart of the harbour near to the mouth of Bosham Reach. Those attending bring their own tents and toilet facilities.

During the day the boats sail together escorted by the dependable “Kellie”(one of the clubs safety boats). Popular trips include visiting Bosham village, Emsworth, Hayling Island Sailing Club, East Head and some years we manage to sail right round Hayling Island.

The camp is self catering and during the evening there is usually a campfire. There is useually at least one joint barbeque during the week plus an optional takeaway meal and a trip to a local pub or sailing club for an evening meal.

Venue: camping on the grounds of Cobner house, (PO18 8TE), sailing in and around Chichester harbour. You can come for one day, or the weekend, or the whole week. For updates on how to book your places and get involved, see the PBSC Facebook page – information will be posted in the next few weeks.

Costs are being firmed up and should appear on the website and on Facebook soon.

The camp is open to all club members but space is limited due to boat capacity and the number of tow bars/ trailers available for transport.
