Power Boat Safety – KILL CORD Update

DONT FORGET to use the KILL CORD as taught in our Power Boat training.

The MAIB for the Camel Estuary incident is now available to view at http://www.maib.gov.uk/cms_resources.cfm?file=/SB1_13.pdf

The simplest and most effective way is to fit around your thigh (as in picture) even in the smaller RIBS. Also when preparing the boats before leaving the beach, check the Kill Cord works and is fit for use whilst running up the engines first thing. Remember that each boat carries a spare Kill Cord. If you consider the Kill Cord is damaged or requires replacement, please either advise Ray or Chris, or note on the Boat House White Board.

If you have any queries or questions on this topic, then please contact me so that we can discuss.
