Another fair weekend at the club. Saturday saw Stuart Keen and the instructors take a phenomenal 29 cadets afloat. After the 5.30 p.m Saturday evening race, thoughts turned to the BBQ again with approximately 30 members (including many campers) watched the sun go down and the BBQ go up (in flames). We also welcomed some of the travelling Contender fleet who whilst sailing locally, were checking out our bar as a precursor to next weekend’s open.
Sunday morning led to light winds for two of the four trophy races that day. The first saw the leaders enthusiastically chasing down an orange coloured fishing buoy, whilst the laggards took advantage of their error to find themselves unusually well placed at the head of the fleet. The winds freshened in the afternoon to a decent F3 and gave some exciting racing and some more genuine results.
Next weekend, we’ll be welcoming the Contender and National 12 fleets to PBSC as we host their open meeting. This provides much needed revenue for the club so please come an help with beach parties, race organisation etc. Saturday night will be a curry night for the travellers and members alike.
Congratulations also to Matt and Nicky Key on the birth of their first child – Dylan.
