Bank holiday weekend sailing report

We had a busy Saturday with a full complement of cadets followed by a good number of guests to our taster day. Both wind and weather was kind and we welcomed a number of new members and encouraged many others who are seriously interested. Sunday racing was a curious affair. A shifty F1-2 in the morning frustrated the racing fleet. After lunch the wind speed shot up to 28kts, capsizing all but one of the afternoon fleet. With many members camping or staying on for a sundowner post the racing, we fired up the club BBQ and had an impromptu social evening, crowned by a spectacular sunset.  Monday, gave us our third day of wall to wall sunshine, starting with nice a F3 that steadily dropped and the serious sailing morphed into one of messing about in the water and the beach. Thanks to Matt Key on the Saturday safety boat who took many good photos now uploaded to flikr.
